June 2009
The month of June, all this fox can say is things have been heating up around. Just the other day, my owner Mark took me to the park to stretch my dead legs, and I swear it was what I like to call "Egypt Hot" outside. I mean to tell you when we were driving to the park all of a sudden a goddam pyramid popped out of nowhere it is that damn hot!!!!!!!
Ok, on to more pressing matters. We started the month with The Jack Daniel's Studio 7 Tour featuring the band OZOMATLI. This was our second year doing it and once again it was a great crowd and Mr. Jack was very happy as we went through 43 bottles of Jack Daniel's that night. If you think that's alot, last year we had Marc Broussard play, and we went through 64 bottles of Jack and finished second in the country, only behind Boston, go figure?
On the party circuit I would like to give special thanks to Mrs. Kim for her husband's 50th Birthday Party, the cowgirls and boys from Sterling Properties, the Greenup family who threw dad one hell of a 60th Birthday party, the classes form Riverdale 1984, Cabrini 1999, and Chalmette 1999 for their reunions this month, The Louisiana Restaurant Association for their annual crawfish boil, Ryan Altier for doing a tremendous job for a fundraiser for the Irish Channel's Grand Marshall this past year Mr. Jimmy Nugent, and the Coastal Conservation Association for their annual banquet.
And then their was the wedding reception of Dolores and Josh. This operation easily goes down as the best party this fox has ever seen at Southport. This thing had it all, a drunken bride and groom along with one hell of wedding cake fight between them. The groomsmen had on baby blue vest, we even had a kid on stage with the Topcats with no shirt on flexing for the crowd. One of our servers was passing shrimp around to the crowd and he had a guy tell him, " I think I caught those shrimp." It even had one of the best musical renditions this fox has ever seen as the bride's father "Wild" Wayne sang You Lost That Love and Feeling with the Topcats. To all the Wedding we have booked the rest of the year and next year it's going to take one hell of an effort to beat this one.
And finally a special thanks to all the great concerts we had this month, Weathered, Flashback, Band Camp, Ratt Poison and Contraflow. You guys rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
